Abstract:
The presence of dark matter is inferred from many astronomical observations, but its nature is still in a deep mystery. Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) is one of candidate for dark matter motivated by theoretical cosmology. DarkSide-50 is a direct detection dark matter experiment currently under commissioning at Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS), that features a two phase depleted liquid argon time projection chamber (LAr-TPC) with an active volume of 50 kg liquid argon. I will present the newly published performance results from DarkSide-50 with atmospheric argon.
