Abstract:
The DarkSide-G2 experiment at LNGS

DarkSide-G2, a next phase of the DarkSide direct WIMP search at LNGS laboratory, aims to reach sensitivity to WIMP-nucleon interactions with cross sections of 1.5×10^(-47) cm2 in a background-free run of 5 years. The key features of the experiment are: detector system consisting of ultra-low-background dual-phase time-projection-chamber with an active mass of 3.8 t underground argon surrounded by active neutron and muon veto and multiple experimental handles, such as argon pulse shape, ratio of ionization over scintillation signal, 3D event reconstruction and veto tagging, for precise measurements and active rejection of backgrounds in-situ. This talk will provide a short overview of the DarkSide-G2 design and a report on the status of the experiment.
